Ana Maria Borges Ferreira grew up seeing her father Manoel Teodoro Ferreira’s passion for coffee. He started growing small quantities in 1965. In 2008 Ana Maria expanded on this and bought more land with altitudes from 1050 to 1259 meters, with a favourable micro-climate and diversity perfect for producing Specialty Coffee.
The Ferriera family have long been community leaders, developing infrastructure and facilities for small coffee growers such as a paved drying yard, and mechanical coffee washers and driers.
