1000 hills, Rwanda

Price range: £12.00 through £35.00

Gooseberry, orange, black tea, nutmeg, toffee

Description

Rwanda is known as the land of a thousand hills because of its rolling hills and mountains that dominate the terrain. It is in these hills and mountains that coffee is grown and after which this blend specially selected by the Rwanda Trading Company (RTC) was named. The high-altitude conditions and rich volcanic soils contribute to the beans’ complexity and refinement resulting in a clean, bright flavour.

RTC represents small holders growing coffee around Kigali and represents some of Rwanda’s most delicious coffee. As well as processing the coffee at the mill, RTC trains growers to help them improve their coffee growing processes and help them to develop a sustainable income through selling quality coffee that fetches higher prices. They have recently invested in the future of coffee in this region by planting 5 million coffee seedlings and helped rejuvenate older farms.
