Price range: £13.00 through £36.00
Grapefruit, amaretto, butter, brown sugar, tonic water
Description
This coffee comes from the Karumandi coffee factory in the central highlands of Kenya where the soil is rich and fertile. Thousands of smallholders grow coffee alongside other crops including potatoes, bananas, mangos, avocados, and livestock. These smallholders grow the coffee that is processed at the coffee factory.
The coffee is picked by local people, pulped at the factory wet mill, floated to separate out the good quality beans from the bad, graded, then dry fermented for 24 hours before being washed and sorted again. The coffee is then soaked in a tank for 24 hours which allows the amino acids to develop, producing the unique rich, bright coffee for which Kenya is renowned. The coffee is then sun-dried for 11-14 days before being vacuum packed to lock in the flavour.
